About the role

The Senior Buyer supports the achievement of Supply Chain Management operational objectives. This role works closely with the supply chain team to support day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the supply chain team to support day-to-day operations.
  • Works actively in strategic sourcing, inventory planning, logistics, distribution, and ERP optimization.
  • Negotiates cost-effective pricing, quality standards, on-time delivery performance, commercial contract terms and conditions, and favorable payment terms, with minimal supervision.
  • Oversees and follows up all open Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring no overdue POs and that system delivery dates are accurate.
  • Analyzes data to maximize supply chain efficiency and keep costs down for the company.
  • Develops, implements, and manages supply chain processes and solutions.
  • Sets up and manages data into ERP, including item setups, costs, purchase orders, etc.
  • Supports different kinds of Request for Quotation (RFQ), analyzes RFQs, prepares and analyzes complex technical specifications, bids, and proposals.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies for the assigned category or region that continuously improves quality, delivery, service, total cost of ownership, and mitigates risk in the supply chain.
  • Supports sales, product managers, and forecast team to capture forecasts and requirements.
  • Responsible for procurement savings, operational performance, and quality claims for categories assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains supplier scorecards in areas such as On-Time Delivery (OTD) and cost of poor quality, etc.
  • Participates in supplier selection, qualification, and development process of new suppliers by working closely with global sourcing, quality teams.
  • Prepares data and conducts analyses (individually or assists the manager with preparation) for contract negotiations and pricing discussions (e.g., spend analysis, researches market and industry conditions, and collects forecast data on volumes).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education or greater, with 3+ years Supply Chain Management or related field and experience. Preferred experience in sourcing/purchasing/project management/manufacturing field.

Excellent advanced Excel/Power BI skills, excellent mathematical and analytical skills, and applicable certifications a plus (e.g., CPSM, CTPS, etc.).
