Sr. projectmanager (fulltime)
About the role
As Sr. Project Manager, you will oversee complex new construction, renovation, and industrial projects within the Brightlands Chemelot Campus. You will work closely with the Real Estate organization, Building Services & Utilities, and the multidisciplinary Conversion Team. You will lead multiple projects from inception to completion and ensure their successful execution within planning, budget, quality, and safety constraints.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and execution of new construction, renovation, and industrial projects on our campus
- Coordinate technical modifications in areas such as laboratories, pilot plants, and office environments, minimizing operational impact
- Provide direction to contractors (such as Brink and CWD) and ensure adherence to agreements
- Actively participate in the Conversion Team, bridging disciplines like Real Estate, Operations, SHE, and Finance
- Engage stakeholders including researchers, startups, and established businesses, and serve as a key point of contact
- Manage project impact through careful planning, safety, and execution
- Handle contract and risk management, including contract drafting and proactive risk management
- Ensure clear reporting to management and stakeholders, keeping them informed throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- A completed HBO or university degree in a relevant field (e.g., WTB, Electrical Engineering, Process Technology, Installation Technology, or Civil Engineering)
- At least 10 years of experience in integrated project management in an industrial, R&D, or utility environment
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and contractors without hierarchical responsibility
- Experience in safety-critical environments such as Seveso, Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, or Automotive
- Experience with contract management, complex project planning, and financing
- Strong organizational and procedural skills
- Ability to think strategically and tactically, and to make decisions based on analysis
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect diverse interests
- Hands-on mentality with a feel for technology and safety
- Analytical, decisive, and solution-oriented mindset
