The Sr. Project Manager - Technology creates and develops relationships supportive of the Baker Group Just Cause and Core Values with employees, internal and external clients. This position provides opportunities to increase business unit revenues by marketing and cross-selling products and services, including Security, Parking systems, and Fire alarm systems.
Responsibilities
- Deep understanding of Building Security, Fire Alarm, and Parking Systems.
- Collaborate with all Baker Group Business Units (BUs) to offer and implement solutions to customers through engineering and field personnel.
- Continuously develop relationships with existing customers and pursue opportunities for long-term customer relationships and revenue growth.
- Educate customers on Baker Group capabilities, including cross-selling opportunities across business units.
- Utilize internal estimating software and standard product selections to develop solutions for customers; review with team members to ensure deliverability.
- Act as Account Manager/Project Manager or single point of contact with the customer during project execution.
- Attend scheduling meetings with Operations Manager to assist with scheduling field labor.
- Attend internal and external project meetings; provide written and verbal communication regarding information requests, proposal requests, coordination, and submittal reviews.
- Initiate turnover meetings with engineering and field teams to discuss project scope, safety, and timelines.
- Procure subcontracts as required for installation using documented procurement formats for multiple bids.
- Utilize company-standard documents for business development, pre-proposal checklists, turnovers, subcontracts, purchase orders, and warranties.
- Manage projects to ensure financial success.
- Price all change orders, ensuring customer labor rates and markups are met.
- Provide reviews and set goals for operations team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Security or Fire systems.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimating and managing Security or Fire projects.
- Demonstrated ability to build and grow client relationships.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Work Environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally.
- Significant field and client interactions on construction job sites, which may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or climbing stairs.
- Occasional exposure to a variety of temperature and weather conditions.
