About the role
Gartner is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile/Scrum environment. The ideal candidate will manage complex web applications, implement system and business process improvements, and align with Gartner's profit, growth, and customer satisfaction goals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure effective implementation of Agile/Scrum processes and provide coaching to maximize their benefits.
- Exhibit a continuous learning attitude towards new tools, techniques, and methodologies.
- Run projects using Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and interact seamlessly with both business and project teams.
- Facilitate discussions to resolve project issues and development impediments.
- Report project progress to management and executive-level stakeholders.
- Communicate the release plan with key stakeholders and end-users.
- Proactively help the product owner manage the backlog.
- Show a desire to continuously improve and demonstrate a track record of improvement.
- Collaborate well with IT associates and business partners to resolve operational issues.
- Develop processes to manage operational issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Identify and resolve systemic operational issues, presenting root causes and process improvements.
Requirements
- 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field) or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Strong experience with the full software development lifecycle and software development methodologies (Agile).
- Ability to influence the scope and direction of initiatives across multiple levels of management and all organizational boundaries.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
- Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training and a strong aptitude for delivering quality products.
- Experience working with a distributed team.
- Strong knowledge of product development.
- Salesforce (SFDC) knowledge a plus.
- The ability to establish credibility quickly with Business Units and IT partners as a passionate change agent.
- Drive projects to successful completion, within budget, and on-time.
- Familiarity with the systems scope and projects objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member.
- Understanding of the strategic direction of the business to ensure that new features and functions are implemented to conform to stated strategies and business needs.
- Ability to influence and manage the expectations of clients, team members, management, and external groups.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of project tracking software like Jira.
