Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome for several small to medium projects or one very large project. This role offers a true sense of ownership as you work on some of the most exciting and high-profile electrical construction projects in the nation. You will lead and manage a team of project managers and assistant project managers to deliver exceptional results for clients while proactively developing new business opportunities and relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy boundaries and communicate them in clear work statements for the field
  • Effectively supervise staff in day-to-day job administration or oversee two or more Project Managers in their daily tasks
  • Train and supervise Project Managers in company philosophy and systems
  • Negotiate and supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project
  • Maintain all required logs to track project progress
  • Train and supervise Project Assistants in maintaining project tracking devices
  • Maintain liaison with prime clients and architects/engineers to facilitate construction activities
  • Monitor construction activities with onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines
  • Represent the company and project in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare monthly costing reports
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts including progress billing, rental equipment, and income/expenses to protect company interests while maintaining strong client relationships

Required Experience/Skills

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in project management, preferably in electrical construction
  • Proven experience mentoring and managing others
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and how these systems work
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
  • Project accountability and initiative for all aspects of project success
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and think outside the box
  • Strong leadership skills, business acumen, and integrity
  • Strong understanding of project financials and forecasting
  • Ability to create and foster great relationships with field teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve mutual outcomes
  • Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Able to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
  • Able to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients
  • Tool install experience

Nice-to-Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or other related discipline
  • Experience with Oracle and Accubid software
  • Experience driving innovative construction techniques and prefabrication strategies
  • Experience in business development and heavy client interaction

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or other related discipline preferred (can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience).
