About the Opportunity: The SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER leads delivery for a significant multi-year program serving a state government client, coordinating new development, enhancements, maintenance, support, and modernization efforts simultaneously. This role manages project sequencing, funding priorities, cross-functional team collaboration, and financial oversight, ensuring successful execution across multiple concurrent workstreams. The position is critical in maintaining client relationships, guiding project delivery approaches, and overseeing budgets and contract management. Responsibilities: Serve as primary client contact, managing coordination and executive communicationAdvise on prioritization and trade-offs among development, enhancements, support, and modernizationAddress scope disputes, schedule delays, and funding issues proactivelyDevelop and manage integrated plans for concurrent workstreamsEnsure team accountability, resolve blockers, and escalate issues as neededTailor delivery methods (agile, predictive, or hybrid) to project requirementsManage risks, issues, dependencies, and decisionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to build backlogs and release plansBalance maintenance requests with planned project work and SLA commitmentsCoordinate releases, user acceptance testing, and go-live readinessManage budgets, forecasts, and contract financialsPrepare monthly invoices and resolve billing inquiriesNegotiate change orders and new statements of workLead or support additional client engagements as assigned Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceSeven or more years managing custom software delivery, including five plus years on state government programsExperience with GIS or location-based applications preferredFamiliarity with natural resources or environmental agencies and various client sectors desirableProven ability to manage multi-year programs and serve as primary liaison between agencies and technology partnersSkilled in managing concurrent workstreams and sequencing shared resourcesHands-on experience with contract and financial management, including public-sector procurementKnowledge of agile, predictive, and hybrid delivery methodologies; PMP or agile certifications preferredStrong communication and advisory skills, with resilience in managing complex situationsComfortable using AI tools and familiar with software such as Azure DevOps, Microsoft 365, Basecamp, and Smartsheet Pay Range and Compensation Package: The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000, with flexibility for experienced candidatesOffers are based on factors including experience, skills, education, credentials, role complexity, and location Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
