Senior Project Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale commercial projects, including mechanical upgrades, HVAC retrofits, roof replacements, lighting upgrades, building controls, and building envelope improvements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage and mentor project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and onsite supervisors.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration between all stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals.
- Provide leadership to resolve conflicts and challenges, ensuring smooth project delivery.
- Oversee project budgets ranging from $10M to $20M, monitoring expenses and controlling costs.
- Approve and track change orders, invoices, and other financial documents.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring transparency and maintaining strong relationships.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and solutions.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Perform quality checks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry best practices.
- Evaluate and select subcontractors, negotiate contracts, and manage their performance.
- Cook with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Anticipate potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve unforeseen issues quickly, minimizing impact on project timelines or budgets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred (or comparable 10 years experience in role).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
- Proven track record managing large projects ($5M–$20M) with a scope including HVAC systems, mechanical upgrades, building envelopes, and related areas.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, roofing, lighting, building controls, and energy-efficient technologies.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
