Sr Project Manager
About the Role
We are a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses, offering iconic brands such as Essilor, Varilux, Crizal, Ray‑Ban, Oakley, and many others. This role will lead the Field Operations of the Industrial Projects Team, managing the development and implementation of RXO projects and acting as a liaison between Engineering, Operations, contractors, and vendors from project conception to completion. The position also ensures the development, organization, and control of project schedules, forecasting, implementation, and tracking of cost and results.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and support in development, assessment, and execution of projects.
- Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with all team members.
- Partners with management to develop capital investment strategy and determine project and initiative priorities.
- Applies knowledge and experience to identify risks, develop and evaluate alternative solutions to drive project success.
- Develops, creates specifications, obtains quotes, and executes infrastructure projects.
- Interacts with contractors and vendors to provide guidance and monitor progress to ensure timely and safe completion of projects.
- Establishes project schedules and Gantt charts to monitor project progress.
- Acts as a liaison between Site Operations and Capital Project Management Teams to schedule installations, equipment movements, and contractor work.
- Submits purchase order requests for materials and labor.
- Reviews vendor invoices for approval.
- Utilizes AutoCAD layout plans for equipment and utility information.
- Ensures project success by providing milestones, budgets, reports, and other communications to the organization.
- Forecasts materials and labor needs and schedules multi‑discipline teams for industrial projects.
- Assesses team member skills and performs development plans and reviews.
- Provides support and leadership in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years project management experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project software.
- Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self‑starter comfortable in an ambiguous, project‑oriented environment.
- Strong knowledge‑base and experience on plant infrastructures, design, and equipment installation.
- Working knowledge of environmental, safety, and health requirements.
- Ability to meet travel schedule as required, up to 30%.
- Current passport and ability to travel throughout North America.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management software program experience.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Experience supervising personnel and leading a team.
- Project background with contractors and vendors.
