Sr. Project Engineer - Mechanical
About the role
The Project Engineer will engage in a variety of engineering tasks, providing approval on project plans for gas transmission and natural gas pipeline projects. They will receive technical guidance on new design topics and collaborate closely with senior engineers on assignments that are new to them.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Unit Leaders to progress complex and technical engineering designs.
- Improve processes and practices within assigned projects.
- Aid in the preparation of proposals by estimating engineering hours.
- Ensure quality control systems are followed.
- Apply complex technical information to designs, ensuring projects meet specifications.
- Direct the activities of engineers, drafters, and designers on small, medium, and large multi-discipline projects.
- Prepare complex technical analyses.
- Share information with your team and question internal and external stakeholders to appreciate design requirements and nuances.
- Interact with clients, estimate proposals, and understand the role of business development in achieving operational goals.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the pipeline industry or a related industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with gas facility work
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
