Brief Description

Barton & Loguidice is seeking a Senior Project Engineer / Managing Engineer to join their Site/Civil design team. They are looking for a motivated civil engineer with 8+ years of experience in site and civil design.

About the role

The Site/Civil design team consists of civil engineers, landscape architects, and community planners who collaborate to deliver projects from concept planning and master planning through final design, bidding, construction administration/observation, and project commissioning. Projects include parks, plazas, and public gathering spaces; municipal streetscapes, downtown, waterfront, and BOA revitalization projects; athletic fields, sports complexes, and recreational facilities; trails, shared-use paths, sidewalks, and pedestrian networks; school campuses and educational facilities; parking lots, roadways, access drives, and circulation systems; public infrastructure and site development projects; grant-funded community improvement and revitalization projects; and private development and institutional site design projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager and/or client manager for select clients of assigned projects
  • Mentor, collaborate with, and review work completed by junior staff and/or direct reports – develop and foster a positive team environment
  • Complete technical quality assurance/quality control reviews of staff design documents, calculations, and reports
  • Aid in and lead prospective and proposal efforts, including preparing scopes, effort hour and fee estimates
  • Prepare and present technical presentations internally and externally at client and professional organization events
  • Participate on company committees and user groups
  • Develop projects from concept plans and master plans, through funding applications and final construction documents
  • Serve as lead engineer for the firm’s Municipal Designated Engineer clients in proximity to your home office
  • Cook up and meet with project teams, clients, regulatory and funding agencies, and contractors

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • 8+ years of relevant consulting engineering experience
  • Strong technical experience in site design, grading plans, drainage, and stormwater management
  • Experience preparing construction plans, details, technical specifications, and bid documents
  • Strong understanding of site development constructability
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation
  • Strong written/verbal communication and project management skills, including attendance at municipal and planning board meetings, public informational meetings and hearings
  • PE license

Benefits

Estimated Pay Range: $105,000 - $125,000/year. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
