About the role

As a Senior Project Engineer, Test Equipment in our Space & Defense Group in Arvada, CO, you will be responsible for the design and development of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic components and systems used to test Moog products. This position focuses on designing and developing new test equipment, assemblies, and processes to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. You will contribute to the design of test equipment to verify functional performance of products used on military, commercial, and space vehicles, ensuring system or component performance and integration within budget and prescribed schedules.

You will coordinate the work of drafters, technicians, designers, analysts, manufacturing engineers, and others, while providing facilitative leadership with program management, quality engineering, and operations. This role leverages your knowledge, experience, and skills in technical coordination and communication.

Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor engineering project budgets and schedules.
• Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
• Prepare successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and write the technical volume.
• Operate as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals.
• Coordinate and support the assembly of test equipment.
• Mentor younger engineers where and when appropriate.
• Work closely with internal program teams to design specialized test equipment, define systems architecture and interfaces, and validate requirements.
• Lead the design process and provide technical leadership within Moog’s program scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• 3 years of leading technical projects or initiatives.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated understanding of the design, analysis, development, and production of complex electromechanical hardware.
• Self-starting instincts and strong analytical skills.
• Experience with component design, development, and verification testing.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical and programmatic information and manage competing priorities of multiple stakeholders.

Pay

Arvada, CO: $95,000.00 – $115,000.00 annually.
