Responsibilities
- Leadership: Ensures the overall design intent of the project is incorporated into detailed documentation.
- Design Process: Monitors the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring consistency and proper execution.
- Technical Resolution: Resolves and coordinates technical issues within a defined portion of a project.
- Specification Development: Develops specifications and coordinates drawings and specifications.
- Document Accuracy: Checks completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
- Project Strategy: Sets the overall strategy for producing documents and identifies sheets planned for each stage of the work.
- Team Management: Supervises preparation of technical drawings by other less senior level architects or technicians.
- Communication: Communicates with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensures construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards.
- Client Interface: Regularly communicates with client representatives to verify design requirements, specifications, progress reviews, and delivery of final presentations.
- Teamwork: Assists in planning and conducting work, makes minor adaptations and modifications to complete working drawing sets.
- Project Meetings: Attends on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings.
- Support: Provides technical support and project communications to team as required.
- Business Development: Participates in business development meetings with team leaders to target specified project, client, or market opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ design experience.
- Licensed Architect with current registration in your region required, if licensure is offered in your region.
- NCARB registration preferred.
- LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
Benefits
- Compensation: Based on experience, qualifications, education, and location. Reasonably expected salary range is $140,000 to $180,000.
- Other Compensation: May include a discretionary bonus.
- Software: Uses specific software as needed.
