The Sr Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in scheduling, offering strategic oversight for multiple projects or programs. This role involves optimizing scheduling processes, developing advanced scheduling methodologies, and mentoring junior schedulers. You will ensure all project schedules are realistic, achievable, and aligned with the organization's goals, while collaborating with various stakeholders to meet project timelines and contribute to the overall success of the organization's initiatives.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, specializing in manned and unmanned aircraft systems integration for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end C4ISR capabilities include design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training, and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements, consistently exceeding expectations with a record of on-time and on- or under-budget deliveries.
Join the SNC-led Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) team to modernize and deliver the next-generation SAOC aircraft, trusted by the President, Secretary of Defense, and Chairs of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for critical command, control, and communication during national emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, development, and coordination of integrated master plans and schedules for highly complex projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Oversee the tracking and maintenance of project plans and schedules to ensure horizontal and vertical integration across the enterprise.
- Conduct advanced risk analysis to identify and proactively mitigate schedule risks, ensuring project timelines are met.
- Identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts using Gantt, Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT), milestone charts, and other advanced project management techniques.
- Evaluate schedule compliance and systematically identify reasons for completion shortfalls, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on schedule status to senior stakeholders, providing clear insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive scheduling data, fostering effective communication and coordination.
- Support program management in developing and implementing advanced scheduling best practices, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior and intermediate analysts on advanced scheduling techniques and best practices, fostering their professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required. Higher-level relevant degrees may substitute for experience.
- 6+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project Professional or other similar scheduling tools.
- Ability to proactively drive conversations and ask detailed questions.
- Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with multi-faceted teams to drive issues to closure within your domain.
- Ability to confidently communicate status to completion on workload and raise roadblocks/issues to the team for mitigation.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and systems.
- Understanding of DCMA 14-point & IPMDAR DI_MGMT-81861.
- Ability to apply Critical Path Analysis and Schedule Risk Analysis.
- Understanding of and ability to apply Schedule Performance and Health Metric Analysis.
- Understanding of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development.
- Experience in the development and maintenance of resource-loaded integrated master schedules, including detailed schedule analysis, rolling wave planning, health assessments, schedule risk assessments, and critical/driving path analysis.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Understanding of Mil Standard 881.
- Knowledge of engineering design and life cycle concepts.
- Experience in assembling and building Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
- Understanding of Event versus Product-based schedules.
- Understanding of Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development.
- Ability to facilitate resource leveling, validate remaining work, and identify and resolve critical path conflicts.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and teaching.
- Ability to develop and conduct relevant stakeholder learning sessions.
- Ability to work across multiple software systems and comprehend system relationships.
- Foundational understanding of Program Management processes.
- Knowledge of DoD, government contracting, and/or public auditing policies, standards, and procedures.
- Willingness to support the development and delivery of key employee training, including new employee onboarding and continuous education curriculum.
- Oversee the coordination, generation, and integration of Schedule Risk Assessments (SRA) for complex and large-scale projects.
- Analyze schedule data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver in-depth reports and presentations to senior leadership and customers.
