Sr Production Planner
About the role
The Sr Production Planner plays a crucial role in the Missiles business unit of CAES, a leading provider of analog and radiation hardened technology for the United States aerospace and defense industry. Reporting directly to the Manager, this position is located in San Jose, CA.
Responsibilities
- Fulfill demand requirements by examining Material Requirements Planning (MRP) indications
- Communicate material availability to procurement and ensure need dates are met to release production orders
- Maintain configuration and serial control of production hardware
- Ensure the generation of pick lists, packing slips, and other shipping documents as required
- Flag and communicate production problems
- Responsible for requesting Customer Source Inspection (CSI) of hardware shipments
- Assure that planning data items are properly maintained in SAP, and are compatible with applicable program plans and schedules
- Support production programs by working with the program managers and production leads
- Collaborate in team meetings and activities
- Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Intermediate Computer skills including Excel and Word
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and communication skills
- MRP Experience: SAP or Oracle experience preferred
- Advanced to Expert level in Excel and PowerPoint
- Manufacturing, Electronic, or Aerospace industry background
- Knowledge of FAR or recent experience supporting a government contractor environment
