About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

Responsibilities

  • Possess strong engineering judgement and ability to provide recommendations despite uncertainty
  • Are detail and data oriented
  • Have experience in Mechanical Engineering and/or Mechanical Products
  • Review, update, and approve equipment submittals
  • Work with global mechanical equipment suppliers and manufacturers
  • Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g. reliability, operations, design, compliance)
  • Work on concurrent projects, in multiple geographic zones
  • Understand and explain complex systems in clear and concise language
  • Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Listened to the voice of the customer to understand if there are improvements that can be made to increase product reliability or availability.
  • Work with global supplier and manufacturers to design product improvements, and to oversee root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scale

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of critical data center or mission critical mechanical and electrical equipment and hands-on experience trouble-shooting mechanical components and systems
  • 8+ years of experience developing Mechanical and/or Mechanical Cooling Products and launching them into production
  • 8+ years of project experience with cooling systems or components
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management and related systems

Qualifications

  • Experienced in Mechanical and/or Mechanical Cooling Products and hands-on experience trouble-shooting mechanical components and systems
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
  • Ability to design for manufacturability, create assembly specifications and work with contract manufacturers and OEMs

Pay

Base salary range for this position is listed below. USA, OH, COLUMBUS - 136,600.00 - 184,800.00 USD annually
USA, WA, Seattle - 136,600.00 - 184,800.00 USD annually

Schedule

Intermittent travel will be necessary and should be expected to be around 30%. While most travel will be domestic, some international travel may be necessary.
