Sr. Product Engineer

Responsibilities
- Tap into your curiosity and collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world.
- Support the development and maintenance of existing & new products within the Home Environment & Consumer Safety portfolios.
- Implement programs to improve quality, reduce costs, and support new NPI programs for Home Environment & Consumer Safety products.
- Lead key Change Management Projects (CMP) for existing products and product line extensions.
- Drive implementation and launch of New Product Introduction (NPI) teams.
- Verify and document product specifications for new and existing products via claim substantiation process in PLM.
- Conduct product claims testing and document test results via claim substantiation process.
- Interact closely with key internal and external manufacturers and suppliers to deliver high-quality retail products.
- Interface with cross-functional team members (marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, technical service, quality, regulatory, etc.) to ensure successful program delivery.
- Determine root cause of product quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of manufacturing and/or laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) & Change Management Projects (CMP).
- Demonstrated success in effectively leading and contributing to cross functional teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute product verification/claim substantiation test plans, develop & validate test methods and properly document test results.
- Proficiency in design of experiments and other statistical methods & tools.
- Experience in a regulated industry.
- Familiar with PLM system for: RM substitutions (and the 3M change management process), NPI process, SKU creation, BOM creation, PFMEA, DFMEA, HOQ, test method development.
Qualifications

Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. Additional information is available at: Pay & Benefits Overview.
Schedule
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work five days a week at the 3M center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel
May include up to 15% - 25% domestic travel.
