About the role

AMD is hiring a Sr. Product Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. Multiple openings are available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development.
  • Influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or product lines.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces/formats for simulation.
  • Collaborate with design, validation, and architecture teams for content coverage, test pattern development, validation, and debugging.
  • Develop test program infrastructure incorporating the latest Best-Known Methods.
  • Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce cost, improve yield, and resolve quality issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including engineers, to develop ASIC/layout design, addressing complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
  • Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD products.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering Management, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering or product development role. Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.

Skills

The following skills are required:

  • Performing hardware and software verification.
  • Developing validation plans for semiconductor products.
  • Product development cycles for semiconductor products.
  • CPU, GPU, or SoC architecture.
  • Scripting with C, C++, or Python.
  • Embedded drive development.
  • Tableau.
