About the role

We are looking for a Senior Principal Tech Lead Manager for AWS Transform, a frontier agent for migration and modernization. You will help architect and drive the technical evolution of autonomous AI agent systems that modernize mission-critical enterprise infrastructure and very large codebases. We help our customers transition to a future of continuous modernization and help them unlock the full potential of GenAI. We do this through the first-of-its-kind multi-agent, multi-user, multi-domain system that orchestrates workflows across multiple teams within an enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a nimble team of AI scientists, fostering a culture of rapid experimentation and research excellence while keeping the team tightly aligned to product impact
  • Set the technical vision for building state-of-the-art learning systems with knowledge graphs, reasoning, and validation capabilities that operate beyond foundational model boundaries — and translate that vision into concrete research and engineering milestones for your team
  • As a technical leader influencing a large engineering organization, balance innovation with operational excellence, mentoring senior scientists and creating an environment where a small, high-caliber group can move fast and punch above its weight
  • This role is central to disrupting the enterprise modernization market and is a unique opportunity to combine expertise in distributed systems with bleeding-edge innovation in agentic systems

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD, or Master's degree in CS, CE, ML or related field experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience in any of the following areas: AI (NLP or multi-modality models), Deep Learning, LLM model training, graph learning, software engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant, broad research experience after PhD degree or equivalent
  • First author publications at Tier-1 ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR

Pay

  • USA, CA, Santa Clara: $276,100 - $350,000 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $240,100 - $324,800 USD annually
  • Final compensation determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location
  • Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs)
