Sr Principal Engineer Systems

Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement and manage system requirements.
• Revises and manages both original and revised specification/interface definition document and expedites documents through signature approval process.
• Supports system design, data analyses, interface verification, testing, failure/anomaly resolution and mission operations.
• Supports the testing and/or evaluation/validation of one or more components of a system or subsystem analytical model or actual system implementation.
• Attends and prepares materials for presentation during System Requirement Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and System Verification Review.
• Supports trade studies, system sensitivity studies, design optimization studies, system performance assessments, system design assessments, mission analysis and timelines and concept of operations development.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment supporting an Integrated Product Team.

Basic Qualifications

• BS Degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree and 8 years of related experience or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree and 6 years of related experience, or PhD with 4 years of related experience.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
• 2 years experience with DOORS requirements managements tool.
• 2 years experience process and Procedure writing experience.
• Familiarity with systems engineering principles and processes.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance.
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools (eg, Cameo).
• Understanding of Statement of Work and other contractual documents.
• Experience writing statements of work and estimating project scope.
• Experience in problem-solving skills.
• Experience in performing failure analysis and driving implementation of robust corrective action.
• Experience in generating product test plans, leading tests as Test Engineer and generating comprehensive test reports for internal and external customer distribution.
• Experience in problem-solving skills.
• Good organization skills – Ability to coordinate multiple projects.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present complex technical concepts to project, program, and company management, other technical managers, and customers.
