Sr Principal Engineer - MES Systems

About the Role
Lilly is entering an exciting period of growth, investing over $50 billion to create new manufacturing capacity worldwide. This role is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help build and start up new state-of-the-art Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facilities. The Sr Principal Engineer – MES Systems will be part of a new API facility MES team, developing standard approaches and components for MES recipes and integration across Lilly’s network of new sites. This role will assist local teams in the design, development, delivery, and computer system validation (CSV) of MES solutions for new facilities, reporting to the MQ IT Leader for new facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate MES common and site-specific components.
- Benchmark innovative solutions (external and internal to Lilly).
- Dynamically adapt roadmap to site evolution, strategic directions, and new trends/issues.
- Establish a strong site culture based in Lilly values, expectations, and operational excellence standards.
- Support MES solutions start-up activities.
- Work with site resources toward replication and standardization to drive value and implement appropriate technical solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and their implications for Lilly’s existing footprint.
- Maintain open communication with MES vendor(s) to address needs in standard solutions or via functional packs.
- Evaluate and translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure project and/or validation documentation is maintained during lifecycle and release management.
- Develop and assist in the creation and maintenance of MES interfaces with other Lilly systems.
- Problem-solve and work through manufacturing situations, serving as an escalation contact with vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of strong experience with MES system implementations and data integration, preferably with Syncade/DeltaV MES.
- Professional experience working in a GXP, regulated environment.

Schedule
Role is Monday through Friday and based on-site. Must be flexible in providing support to accommodate production schedules, shutdowns, etc. Occasional extended or off-hour work may be required.
Pay
The anticipated wage for this position is $126,000 - $184,800. Full-time equivalent employees are also eligible for a company bonus (depending on company and individual performance).
