Sr. Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications that support business units across research, investments, front office, and trading.
• Own ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing core business applications.
• Collaborate closely within IT and with business stakeholders across the firm.
• Contribute to integration initiatives, including trading workflows tied to Charles River OMS.
• Apply modern software design principles, best practices, and disciplined engineering methods.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years in financial services or financial management.
• Significant experience with Python and its ecosystem.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of C# and Microsoft stack is a plus.
• Experience leading a technical team is a plus.
• Cloud-based development experience. AWS preferred.
• Includes building and deploying applications in cloud environments, infrastructure as code such as Terraform or CloudFormation, containers and orchestration such as Docker or Kubernetes, and monitoring, logging, and foundational cloud security practices.
• Familiarity with order management systems. Charles River OMS experience is valuable.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
