Sr. Principal Applied Scientist, Advertising Full Funnel Agentic Intelligence
About the role
This is a Sr. Principal Applied Scientist role within the Advertising Full Funnel Agentic Intelligence and Models team, designed to drive foundational model innovation for Amazon Ads. The team is building next-generation agentic AI systems for advertising. This hire will serve as a key technical leader bringing rare low-level model development expertise to Amazon Ads.
Responsibilities
- Define long-term scientific vision for advertising technologies, translating complex customer needs into strategic roadmaps
- Design and implement innovative machine learning and generative AI solutions across multiple advertising product domains
- Mentor and develop scientific talent, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous innovation
- Collaborate with senior leadership to influence technical direction and strategic decision-making
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions to drive cutting-edge research and talent development
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical discipline; Extensive expertise in machine learning, generative AI, and large language model technologies; Proven track record of translating advanced research into production-ready solutions; Strong publication record in peer-reviewed conferences and journals; Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in advertising technology, recommendation systems, or e-commerce platforms; Expertise in multi-modal AI systems and advanced natural language processing; Background in developing scalable machine learning infrastructure; Experience leading cross-functional scientific research initiatives; Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop scientific talent
Pay
Base salary range for this position is listed below. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
USA, CA, Palo Alto - $276,100.00 - $350,000.00 USD annually
USA, WA, SEATTLE - $240,100.00 - $324,800.00 USD annually
