Sr Prin Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

A Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer at V&IPS will partner with Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Customers, and Technical Operations to lead the development of Isolation Valve Quick Turn capabilities in Broomfield. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Product Development and focuses on technical leadership, semiconductor and vacuum expertise, cross-functional collaboration, mentorship, and business operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of Isolation Valve Quick Turn capabilities, owning technical decisions, design direction, and execution.
• Drive new product development from concept through release.
• Translate customer requirements into manufacturable solutions using expertise in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, vacuum systems, and isolation valves.
• Collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Customers, Engineering teams, and Technical Operations.
• Mentor engineers in Broomfield and India, establish engineering best practices, and provide technical guidance and reviews.
• Support the quoting process for quick-turn opportunities.
• Work within PLM and ERP systems to improve responsiveness, cost, and manufacturability.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.
• Expertise in vacuum technology.
• Leadership in new product development.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor).
• Experience with PLM/ERP systems (Agile, Oracle).
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
