Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform client-specific underwriting, financial modeling, and data analysis to support new business, renewals, and strategic pricing initiatives.
- Analyze historical pharmacy claims data to identify utilization trends, cost drivers, pricing anomalies, and financial risks.
- Prepare financial analyses and provide consultative pricing support for current and prospective clients, including responding to RFP financial requests and supporting proposals and negotiations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Client Services, Finance, Proposal, Legal, and PBM Operations to align pricing strategy with business objectives.
- Ensure pricing activities comply with PBM regulations, internal pricing policies, and data governance standards.
- Identify opportunities to enhance pricing tools, models, processes, and analytical workflows.
- Provide guidance, review, and informal mentorship to junior pricing analysts.
- Participate in department and company initiatives and projects.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Business, or a related quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in pricing, underwriting, financial modeling, or analytical roles, preferably within PBM, healthcare, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience supporting pricing strategy, underwriting decisions, or financial analysis in a deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis, and financial modeling.
- Prior experience with PBM pricing methodologies, healthcare claims data, or network economics is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and pricing results.
- Strong understanding of pricing principles, underwriting concepts, and healthcare or PBM economics.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial and analytical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to support negotiations and stakeholder discussions.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills when evaluating financial risk and pricing outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools is a plus.
