Sr Practicum to Graduate Nurse Pipeline Program

About the role

During this program, the nursing student will commit to completing their Senior Practicum on a designated floor. Upon successful completion of their Senior Practicum, and after taking the NCLEX and becoming licensed as an RN, the student will transition into a Staff Nurse I role on that floor.

Responsibilities

• Provides entry level professional nursing care to patients in varying states of health and illness.
• Works closely with a preceptor during the initial orientation period.
• Functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provides direct care to patients and families.
• Engages in teaching activities.
• Prepares patients and families for continuing care after discharge.

Requirements

• Open to senior nursing students from UVM, Norwich, and VTSU Castleton.
• Must complete the Senior Practicum on the designated floor.
• Must pass the NCLEX and obtain RN licensure before transitioning to Staff Nurse I.
