About the Role
The Display Products team is searching for a Senior Principal Project Engineer (Program Chief) to lead and manage display product development programs. This role involves technical and project management leadership across hardware, systems, and software engineering teams, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and technical performance goals. The successful candidate will act as the single point of contact for engineering, driving program planning, execution, and customer engagement while ensuring compliance with avionics regulatory and certification requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage display product development programs, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and technical performance goals.
- Provide technical and project management leadership across hardware, systems, and software engineering teams.
- Act as the single point of contact for engineering, ensuring technical execution aligns with program and customer expectations.
- Drive program planning and execution, including pursuit, bidding, risk management, and customer technical presentations.
- Ensure compliance with Rockwell Collins Consistent Engineering Processes and avionics regulatory/certification requirements (e.g., TSO, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C).
- Stay current on AMLCD and emerging display technologies to maintain industry leadership.
- Balance system performance and affordability to deliver high-value solutions to customers.
- Communicate effectively across all levels, from individual contributors to executive leadership.

Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Proven leadership experience in certified flight deck display development.
- Strong background in technical project management, including schedule management, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk management.
- Expertise in avionics regulatory and certification requirements (TSO, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C).
- Demonstrated ability to meet program objectives and commitments.
- Collaborative and adaptable mindset with a passion for mentoring and team growth.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $132,400 – $251,600 USD.
