About the role

This position will report to the Plant Manager and be based at West County Energy Center in Loxahatchee, FL. The successful candidate will have a strong safety leadership presence and a bias for action. Instrument & controls and electrical maintenance experience is preferred.

Experience in planning and executing daily maintenance on industrial plant equipment including: gas turbines, steam turbines, instruments, transmitters, and valves. The position will troubleshoot and analyze equipment performance deviations while ensuring the plant's electrical and I&C equipment is maintained at the highest operational standards and available for use at all times.

Electrical troubleshooting skillset required: AC/DC motors/controllers, Low/Medium voltage circuit breakers, generators, excitations systems, and general electrical maintenance standards. Combined cycle operations and I&C knowledge is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Directs a team of production and maintenance technicians and contractors in plant maintenance activities
  • Leads internal and external resources to execute plant maintenance, achieving short and long-term site goals in safety, environmental compliance, reliability, availability, and cost management
  • Focuses on optimizing site maintenance
  • Develops technicians’ skills and knowledge
  • Standardizes processes, procedures, and techniques to ensure repeatability
  • Applies advanced leadership skills for internal employee development and performance management
  • Drafts troubleshooting plans and builds work scope packages for field technicians
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Performs job function with minimal oversight

Requirements

  • High School Grad / GED
  • 4+ years of experience in a relevant field
  • Supervisor/Management experience
  • Knowledge of process management concepts, quality tools, and techniques
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of safety policy and practice
  • Technical/functional knowledge and learning ability
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills: AC/DC motors/controllers, Low/Medium voltage circuit breakers, generators, excitation systems, and general electrical maintenance standards
  • Ability to read and understand electrical prints and diagrams
  • Ability to obtain/maintain NERC medium access

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree
  • Combined Cycle Power Plant operations experience
  • Electrical Journeyman Certificate
  • Six Sigma quality tools experience
  • Experience managing projects within budget and identifying capital/O&M projects to forecast plant's future budget
  • Supervisor/Foreman experience
