About the role
Aids the manager in operating the work area and directs staff PSG Technicians.
Responsibilities
- Schedules patients and orders CPAP equipment from DME companies based on physician prescriptions.
- Evaluates and treats sleep disorders through comprehensive services including polysomnography, diagnostic, and therapeutic services, or patient education.
- Setups and calibrates polysomnographic recording and monitoring equipment, applies sensors, initiates sleep recordings, summarizes data from recordings, and performs routine cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Produces high-quality polysomnographic recordings and monitors quality assurance indicators.
- Conducts CPAP compliance clinics and CPAP acclimation clinics.
Requirements
- Education: Non-degree program in Polysomnography Technology or EEG training; High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field; Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a sleep disorders center.
- Licenses: Basic Life Support; Reg Polysom Required or Registered Sleep Techgst; PA Respiratory Care License; Preferred: Reg Respiratory Therapist.
