Sr Platform Engineering Analyst
About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled technologist to fill a Sr. Platform Engineering Analyst position in the Middleware Architecture team. The role involves leading the design, engineering, and modernization of enterprise messaging and streaming infrastructure. Key responsibilities include developing high-performance Java-based messaging tools, architecting and automating CI/CD deployment pipelines, setting up and managing scalable messaging and streaming environments in GCP, and migrating legacy JMS workloads to modern scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Developing, engineering, and maintaining high-performance Java based messaging tools to support and optimize the Messaging and Streaming Infrastructure.
- Architecting and automating CI/CD deployment pipelines for messaging tools while leveraging Ansible for operational tasks.
- Setting up, configuring, and managing highly scalable messaging and streaming environments within GCP using Terraform and Ansible.
- Migrating existing legacy Java Message Service (JMS) workloads and configurations to modern scalable solutions primarily using Google Pub/Sub and Apache Kafka (or commercially supported implementations from Confluent).
Requirements
- Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise messaging and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Confluent Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Java Message Service (JMS), Cloud Software Group (formerly TIBCO) Enterprise Message Service (preferred).
- Strong Java/J2EE development experience, Spring Boot framework, RESTful API development, Microservices architecture, JSON, XML, SOAP, and WSDL.
- Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture design patterns, Cloud-native applications, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Terraform (Infrastructure as Code), Ansible automation, CI/CD pipeline development, GitHub, Jenkins.
- Familiarity with SQL and JDBC, NoSQL databases (DataStax/Cassandra preferred), OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Okta (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex enterprise technical initiatives, define enterprise messaging architecture and engineering standards, collaborate with various stakeholders, and communicate complex technical concepts.
- Experience as a member of multi-functional project teams, strong oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
- Three to four (3-4) years’ work experience in Platform Engineering or related field.
- Familiarity with conducting end-to end analyses, including data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, and presentations.
- General understanding of the industry, competitors, and evolving technologies.
- Experience as a member of multi-functional project teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Benefits
Compensation range: $7,094.23/mo - $15,607.31/mo, depending on location.
