About the Opportunity:The SENIOR PLATFORM ENGINEER is responsible for developing and maintaining foundational infrastructure and software that enable platform functionality supporting research, development, hosting, and integration capabilities. This role is pivotal in executing the technology roadmap, ensuring the platform's reliability, scalability, and security to support diverse teams within the program. Responsibilities:Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure primarily on Google CloudDevelop and manage cloud control plane using CrossplaneCreate and maintain reusable Terraform modules with automation and policy validationOperate and troubleshoot production Kubernetes clustersAdminister Linux systems including performance tuning and security hardeningDevelop platform APIs and services in Go with attention to versioning and error handlingGather requirements and treat the platform as a productProduce documentation, client examples, and templates for platform adoptionBuild and maintain pipelines in GitHub Actions and Azure DevOpsImplement GitOps deployment patterns using tools like Argo CDAutomate provisioning, onboarding, and routine operational tasksWrite automated tests and integrate scanning tools into CIParticipate in design and code reviews to maintain quality standardsDefine and monitor SLIs and SLOs, build dashboards and alertingParticipate in on-call rotations and lead incident responseMonitor and optimize cloud spendMaintain patching and vulnerability remediationSupport compliance through policy-as-code and admission controlsApply security best practices including least-privilege access and defense in depthContribute to the platform technical roadmap based on experience and operational needsCollaborate with product teams following development life cycle processesMentor engineers to strengthen team practices in infrastructure as code, Go, and Kubernetes Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent with minimum 7 years of relevant experience3–5 years of cloud engineering experience supporting production platformsExperience with Agile development in cross-functional teamsProficient with Google Cloud Platform or major cloud providersSkilled in designing and operating APIs and backend services, preferably in GoExperience with Terraform infrastructure as codeLinux systems administration in productionProficient with scripting languages such as bash and pythonExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions Pay Range and Compensation Package:The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
