Sr Planning Manager / S&OP
About the role
As a Sr Planning Manager / S&OP at Honeywell Technologies, you will play a critical role in driving the 5-step S&OP process, end-to-end Supply Chain Planning, S&OE processes, and key initiatives to achieve revenue, margin, and cash flow goals for the supported businesses. You will develop close connections with commercial partners and lead a team of supply chain planning professionals, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to align with key business strategies and objectives. This role is pivotal in driving business growth and competitiveness, particularly as the team undergoes a transformation in processes and tools. You will serve as a key architect and change leader to ensure these changes are effective and sustainable.
You will report directly to the VP of Supply Chain for the Process Technologies (PT) division and work with business partners in Allentown, PA; Charlotte, NC; Houston, TX; and Palmetto, FL on a hybrid schedule (3+ days per week in the office). This role significantly impacts financial performance through support of growth initiatives, working capital improvements, and enhanced planning capabilities. Your expertise in the 5-step S&OP process will drive process maturity improvements, visible in annual S&OP assessments.
This position leads planning activities, including demand planning, production planning, inventory control, and material planning for a specific global business unit focused on Engineer-to-Order products in a discrete manufacturing environment. You will have authority in strategic planning, work cross-functionally to achieve organizational objectives, and drive functional excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of demand planning, supply planning, and inventory management professionals to over-deliver key metrics and execute with excellence.
- Drive alignment between Planning and other supply chain and commercial teams to ensure the business is positioned for significant growth.
- Optimize internal processes to improve S&OP process maturity to level 4.
- Orchestrate end-to-end supply chain activities to support doubling business growth, partnering with procurement, manufacturing, engineering, and other functions.
- Facilitate the 5-step S&OP/IBP process for a rolling 24-36-month horizon and ensure an effective S&OE process for the immediate term.
- Partner with business and functional leaders to design a global supply chain that delivers exceptional results for customers.
- Monitor demand, supply, inventory, and material requirement plans.
- Lead all Business Continuity Plans for the planning function to deliver risk mitigation and ensure quick recovery from crises or disasters.
- Ensure delivery of inventory targets, PFEP (Plan for Every Part), and reduction of aged inventory.
- Develop and drive the talent pipeline for planning roles, including mentoring and coaching upcoming talent.
- Streamline work through digital transformation, including the implementation of new APS and ERP systems.
- Ensure adherence to all Global Design Models in accordance with the Honeywell Accelerator framework by connecting with the Planning Center of Excellence (COE).
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in S&OP, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, and Materials Management.
- Proven track record in leading a 5-step S&OP process for a commercial business.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Demonstrated transformational leadership experience to support accelerating growth and dynamic mergers & acquisition environments.
- 5+ years of experience in SAP MRP and ERP, preferably in an Engineer-to-Order/Deal-based business within discrete manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Executive presence to deliver compelling presentations to executive leadership.
- International experience with exposure to high-growth regions.
- Passion for driving continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma.
- Passion for developing and coaching teams.
- Cross-functional experience in planning, engineering/technology, operations, and supply chain.
- Collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and ensure successful customer delivery.
