About the role

Responsible for underwriting and marketing the insurance needs of clients and prospects with a focus on exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge of Property, Inland Marine, General Liability, Business Automobile Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and Commercial Umbrella, including policy forms and terms/conditions.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the insurance marketplace and develop significant relationships with key underwriters.
  • Assess client needs, design solutions, and negotiate with insurance carriers to obtain appropriate coverage plans.
  • Market client business (typically higher complexity) to a variety of insurance carriers for new and renewal business.
  • Identify appropriate carriers, submit applications for quotes, negotiate favorable rates and terms, and prepare Insurance Proposals.
  • Stay current on industry news, products, coverage, and technology.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and attend company meetings, educational workshops, carrier functions, staff meetings, and networking events as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and/or 10–15 years of work-related experience.
  • Experience in an agency environment preferred.
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license.
  • Professional designations such as ARM, CPCU, CRM, or CIC are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to prepare written correspondence, reports, and analyses in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify problems, recommend solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

Starting pay is $145,000 annual.
