Sr. Photo Producer
Location: New York City
Schedule: Full-Time Contract | Hybrid, approximately 3 days/week onsite + NYC-area shoots
About the role
Soni is seeking an experienced Senior Photo Producer to help lead and build the photography function within a fast-paced, mission-driven organization. This is not an execution-only production role. The Senior Photo Producer will partner closely with Creative, Brand, Strategy, Marketing, and senior stakeholders to translate creative briefs and business needs into thoughtful, compelling photography. The ideal candidate brings deep photography production experience, strong creative judgment, and a strategic mindset. This person will help establish visual direction, lead pre-production planning, source and manage photographers, contribute to art direction, and develop scalable processes as photography needs continue to grow.
Responsibilities
- Translate creative briefs and business priorities into strategic photography approaches.
- Develop mood boards, visual direction, shot strategies, and production plans.
- Lead photography projects from pre-production through shoot execution and final asset delivery.
- Identify, source, and manage photographers based on creative needs, style, audience, and budget.
- Build and maintain a strong network of NYC photographers, including established and emerging talent.
- Provide art direction and creative guidance on set.
- Partner with internal teams and external talent on casting, locations, scheduling, production logistics, image selection, and post-production.
- Think strategically about how shoots can efficiently capture content for multiple audiences and deliverables.
- Manage production budgets thoughtfully and find creative, resourceful ways to deliver high-quality work.
- Help establish and continuously improve photography workflows, systems, and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong experience producing still photography within an agency, in-house creative team, production company, consumer brand, editorial/media organization, or similar creative environment.
- Deep understanding of photography production from initial brief and creative development through final delivery.
- Experience developing mood boards, visual approaches, shot plans, and other pre-production materials.
- Strong creative judgment with experience contributing to or leading art direction.
- Existing relationships with photographers and production talent, ideally within the New York City market.
- Ability to source photographers across different specialties, styles, and budget levels.
- Resourceful and comfortable producing high-quality creative within budget constraints.
- Strong production/project management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable partnering directly with senior creative and business stakeholders.
- Proactive, independent, and able to provide a strong point of view rather than waiting for detailed direction.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
Pay
$50 - $65 DOE. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
