Sr Pharmacy Technician
Overview
The Sr. Pharmacy Technician provides high level support to patients, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare staff to effectively process and provide relevant information within the assigned function(s). The incumbent ensures all activities are performed in compliance with company policies and procedures, pharmacy regulations and other regulatory requirements.
Job Description
The Sr. Pharmacy Technician supports and collaborates with nurses and pharmacists to process prescription requests and maintain accurate databases. They serve as the primary point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, ensuring the facilitation of diverse customer requests. They also act as a subject matter expert, providing support to additional staff and cross-divisional teams in resolving outstanding issues. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with various projects and mentoring other staff members.
Success Profile
A successful Sr. Pharmacy Technician must be available for inclusion in after-hour on-call programs, have 2-4 years of related experience, and hold a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or be able to successfully pass the PTCB examination. They should possess strong analytical and organizational skills, detailed attention to tasks, and advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications. Adaptability, teamwork, leadership, excellent communication, and customer service skills are also crucial.
