Sr. Oracle Database Developer

About the role

Neos is seeking a Sr. Oracle Database Developer for a contract role with a client in Austin, TX. The position is hybrid, requiring candidates residing within 50 miles of Austin, TX. This is a database development role focused on schema, stored procedures, views, and configuration‑driven business logic; it is not an infrastructure/operations DBA role, so backup/recovery, patching, instance administration, and capacity‑planning are out of scope.

Requirements

• 8+ years of Oracle database development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• No certifications are required by the RFP (though preferred certifications can strengthen the application).

Skills

Mandatory:

• Oracle 19c — schema/table/view design
• PL/SQL stored procedures
• Referential integrity
• Staging‑table architecture for bulk data ingestion
• Standard audit‑column pattern implementation
• Logical‑delete (soft‑delete) design
• Performance tuning and indexing

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have:

• Experience with data migration and environment promotion (dev → test → production)
• Versioned/metadata‑driven schema patterns (e.g., template versioning paired with JSON snapshot storage)
• Familiarity with Java/Spring Boot/Hibernate integration patterns
