As a Senior Operations Manager at our Charlton, MA Fulfillment Center, you'll be at the helm of a large-scale operation that delivers for millions of Amazon customers every day. Responsibilities

  • Own the operation – Take full accountability for budgetary performance, people development, and operational excellence across your functional area (Inbound or Outbound).
  • Lead and develop leaders – Manage, coach, and mentor a team of Operations and Area Managers, setting clear expectations and holding them accountable while building the next generation of Amazon leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement – Champion Lean initiatives, process innovations, and quality programs that push your team and the FC to exceed business goals.
  • Deliver a world-class customer experience – Ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met or exceeded every single day.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally – Partner with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and peer leaders to secure resources, share best practices, and drive site-wide success.
  • Cultivate ideas – Source and nurture innovative ideas from your team, translating them into actionable improvement plans that raise the bar across the network.
  • Share best practices – Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and the broader network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience
  • Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
  • 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
  • Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques
  • Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
  • Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation
  • Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations or related field. MBA preferred
