Sr Operational Technology Support Specialist
About the role
This hybrid role is based in Buffalo, NY and reports to Professional, IT Business Partners. The Sr Operational Technology Support Specialist will support operational technology (OT) needs within Moog’s manufacturing and test environments, onsite in Western New York. Occasional travel (~10%) and flexible support across multiple sites in the Western New York region are required. The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance and completion of a full physical including bloodwork, pulmonary function testing, and a fit test.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate installation, maintenance, and upgrades of all technology and systems on Moog’s test and production networks.
- Ensure required services are functioning properly between Moog’s test and production networks.
- Provide schedule-critical support for Moog Operations IT assets and infrastructure.
- Create and maintain an inventory of all operational technology used in Engineering, Manufacturing, Testing, Quality, Clean Rooms, and Inspection areas at designated support locations.
- Identify and mitigate gaps, redundancies, and risks; work with IT Security, Network, OT, and other corporate entity COE teams to align with latest policies and procedures.
- Coordinate escalation support beyond first-line service-desk support.
- Develop and partner with Operations and Test Equipment resources to maintain inventory and lifecycle plans (initial build through end of need), including hardware/software maintenance for specialized computer/technology used in Engineering, Manufacturing, Testing, Quality, Clean Rooms, and Inspection areas.
- Support site operations in selecting new operational technology equipment, ensuring adherence to Moog architectural and security standards.
- Act as site point of contact/project coordinator for network/system upgrades affecting specialized computer/technology used in Engineering, Manufacturing, Testing, Quality, Clean Rooms, and Inspection areas.
- Work with operational staff to understand Moog Operational IT equipment needs; support upgrades and improvements to keep equipment state-of-the-art, particularly in emerging technologies and Industry 4.0 opportunities.
- Identify systemic areas for improvement and collaborate with teams, value-stream work-centers, and other functions to drive solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 5 years of combined IT and OT support experience.
- Knowledge of OT principles such as PLCs, HMIs, and the Purdue Model.
- Advanced technical knowledge of computer software, operating systems, hardware, and networking.
- Commitment to maintaining knowledge and skills related to IT standards and emerging OT technologies.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% and support multiple sites in the Western New York region.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
- Completion of a full physical including bloodwork, pulmonary function testing, and fit test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with operational technology used in manufacturing.
- Experience with LabView and engineering test systems.

Pay
Buffalo, NY: $85,000.00–$135,000.00 annually. Actual salary will vary based on location, experience, and performance; other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, open paid time off policy, and region-specific benefits.
