About the role
We are seeking a skilled NetOps Network Operations Engineer to manage and optimize network operations with a strong focus on firewalls, WAN, and SD-WAN technologies. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure through proactive monitoring, incident response, policy management, and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot network infrastructure with emphasis on firewalls, WAN links, and SD-WAN overlays to maintain high availability and performance
- Manage firewall policies, rulesets, configurations, and change control (multi-vendor environments preferred)
- Administer, optimize, and support SD-WAN solutions including path selection, traffic engineering, QoS, and branch connectivity
- Handle WAN operations: circuit management, routing, VPN, performance monitoring, and vendor coordination
- Respond to and resolve network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes
- Execute change management, maintenance windows, and capacity/performance tuning
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and network diagrams; support automation and monitoring tool improvements
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams; participate in on-call rotation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years in network operations/engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco) – policy management and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of WAN technologies and proven SD-WAN experience (e.g., VMware VeloCloud, Cisco Viptela/Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto Prisma, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, VPN, QoS, and network monitoring tools
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Certifications: CCNP, PCNSE, FCP, SD-WAN vendor certs, or equivalent
- Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible) and tools like SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, or similar
- Exposure to cloud networking, SASE, or hybrid environments
- Prior NetOps experience in enterprise or multi-site environments

Pay
Expected compensation: $168,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
