Sr. Network Engineer
About the role
This organization has COLOs in Ashburn and Chicago and approximately 300 service centers. The role involves managing and modernizing their Cisco ACI environment post-data center decommissioning and transfer.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architect, and manage network infrastructure that supports business initiatives.
- Maintain network performance and recommend changes and upgrades based on utilization.
- Collaborate with Technical Architects in network and other systems design.
- Assist the Network Engineer team with escalated advanced network related troubleshooting issues.
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to architectural solutions.
Requirements
- A specialist on complex technical and business matters.
- 7+ years of network engineering expertise supporting 100+ site WAN and LAN environments.
- Highly independent work with potential for team lead roles.
- Experience with core, distribution, and access switching and routing technologies and datacenter technologies (e.g., MPLS, vPC, Etherchannel, BGP, OSPF, policy based routing).
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies and WAN communications including TCP/IP (routing and subnetting), QoS, MPLS, IPSec, etc.
- Expertise in networking concepts, experience implementing and supporting SD-WAN environments, strong troubleshooting skills, experience supporting voice and video across the WAN, experience using Visio or other tools for documentation, strong organization and analytical skills, detail oriented.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent education and experience.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Load Balancing and Global Server Load Balancing.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $175000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
