Sr. Motion Designer

About the role

A leading entertainment organization seeks a Senior Motion Designer to join a dynamic creative team supporting high-profile digital products and experiences. This role involves bringing characters and interfaces to life through expressive animation, motion systems, and interactive design.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D and 3D character animations, motion graphics, and interactive motion experiences for web and mobile platforms.
• Develop and deliver production-ready animations in Rive, including state machines, transitions, and character rigs.
• Design and implement micro-interactions such as loading states, transitions, icon animations, and interface effects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align creative output with product requirements and technical constraints.
• Extend and evolve established motion systems and visual styles to meet high-quality standards.
• Present concepts and motion explorations to stakeholders including senior leadership.
• Export and optimize animation assets for performance across various platforms and devices.
• Participate actively in creative reviews, critiques, and team brainstorming sessions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in animation, motion design, or UX motion design within branded campaigns, commerce, hospitality, or entertainment products.
• Advanced expertise in at least two of the following: 2D or 3D character animation, motion graphics, interactive UX motion design.
• Strong ability to animate characters with personality, weight, and emotional expression across multiple styles.
• High proficiency in After Effects and working knowledge of additional tools such as Maya, Cinema 4D, or similar.
• Deep understanding of motion fundamentals including timing, easing, anticipation, and staging, applied to both narrative and product interfaces.
• Portfolio demonstrating a range of work across character animation, motion graphics, and/or interactive product motion design.

Nice to have

• Figma experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Animation, Visual Arts, Digital Media, or related field.
• Experience with Rive, including state machines, interactive animation systems, and character rigging for real-time applications.
• Proficiency in Maya, Cinema 4D, or similar 3D software.
• Understanding of motion fundamentals including timing, easing, anticipation, and staging, applied to both narrative and product interfaces.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.
