Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment, including but not limited to: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment, including but not limited to: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper functioning.
- Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
- Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
- Work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations.
- Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments on prioritizing work-related activities and time allocations.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work performed, parts used, and findings observed on Repair Orders (RO) using a company-issued iOS device and the proprietary TRAIT application.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
- Work with a high degree of independence and manage your own daily schedule.
- Maintain high productivity and work within or close to Standard Repair Times.
- Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs.
- Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings.
- Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Maintain the company-issued service truck, conduct safety checks, and perform daily pre/post-trip inspections.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field. Alternatively, any level of degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience in a related field.
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
- OEM training and certifications are preferred.
- ASE L2 certification preferred but not required.
- Participate in and complete all company-required training.
- This position follows DOT regulations. Candidate must successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
- A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years or older due to interstate commerce regulations.
- Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required. Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.

Pay
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $32.26 - $48.41/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as location and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position may also be eligible for additional compensation, including commission and/or incentive programs.
Schedule
- Variable shift.
- Days: Monday through Friday.
- $5,000 New Hire Bonus: 50% after 30 days and 50% after 180 days.
