About the role

Vantor is seeking a Senior Mission Analysis Engineer to join our team. This role involves modeling, simulating, analyzing, and evaluating complex aerospace missions across various domains including space, cyber, and maritime.

Responsibilities

  • Model complex aerospace missions using high-fidelity simulations of satellites, aircraft, sensors, and ISR systems.
  • Evaluate mission and system performance through architectural, technological, and operational trade studies.
  • Create and run simulations of realistic operational scenarios to capture customer objectives, mission constraints, and system behavior.
  • Develop and enhance tools, scripts, and automation to streamline and deepen analysis processes.
  • Turn large simulation datasets into actionable insights for engineers, program leaders, and senior decision-makers.
  • Evaluate model assumptions, inputs, outputs, and analytical methods through rigorous quality assurance and engineering judgment.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to diverse audiences, including fellow engineers, program leaders, and customers.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility for TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience
  • Experience with Python or similar programming tools
  • Strong technical curiosity and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate complex technical concepts

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field
  • 15+ years of industry experience
  • Knowledge or experience in astrodynamics, remote sensing, spacecraft or aircraft systems, sensor performance, aerospace operations, mission engineering, or complex systems integration
  • Experience developing, implementing, or evaluating mathematical models, algorithms, simulations, or other quantitative engineering methods
  • Experience working with customers or multidisciplinary teams to understand mission needs, communicate technical findings, and develop practical solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from fellow engineers to customers and senior decision-makers
  • A collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and enthusiasm for solving challenging problems that have a direct impact on the mission

Desired / Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in space or airborne modeling and simulation
  • Experience in ISR, remote sensing, or sensor phenomenology
  • Experience in mission-, system-, or architecture-level trade studies
  • Experience in analyzing large simulation or engineering datasets
  • Experience in developing engineering analysis tools, automation, or visualization capabilities
  • Experience supporting technical studies or analyses for government customers
