Responsibilities
- Directly underwrite middle ticket transactions ($100,000 to $1,000,000) in accordance with NewLane’s Credit Policies and Procedures.
- Provide concise analysis of equipment finance requests by reviewing business financial statements, including but not limited to income statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, tax returns, personal financial statements, and collateral appraisal reports (when available).
- Perform financial spread and analysis of business financial statements and tax returns to determine the applicant’s overall financial condition and their capacity to repay.
- Ensure transactions are underwritten according to NewLane’s Credit policy and procedure standards.
- Review and decision transactions within delegated individual credit authority.
- Prepare and present credit approval summaries to members of Credit and Senior Management when needed.
- Qualify and approve equipment dealers and collateral to be financed.
- Understand, abide by, and uphold NewLane’s audit procedures and internal controls related to essential duties and responsibilities.
- Perform fraud checks and due diligence while underwriting and assessing new equipment finance requests.
- Engage in daily face-to-face interaction with Sales, Credit, and Senior Management.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
- Comply with audit and documentation policy and procedure requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related business fields required.
- 3+ years of related experience, preferably within the small business financing or leasing industry.
- Experience underwriting middle ticket transactions ($100,000 to $1,000,000).
- A strong understanding of business tax returns, financial statements, and business concepts.
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Excel, and strong computer literacy.
- Good working knowledge of other functional departments (e.g., Sales, Funding, Servicing, Collections) and their interactions with the Credit department.

Pay
Salary Range: $64,491.00 - $105,949.50. Individual base pay may vary based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs. In addition to base salary, eligible associates may receive discretionary and formula-based incentive and retention awards.
