About the Role
This position is part of the Specialist career stream, typically involving individual contribution within a professional discipline or specialty. You will deliver and manage assigned projects, working with stakeholders to achieve desired results. The role may include mentoring colleagues or directing the work of lower-level professionals, with most time spent on project delivery from design to implementation while adhering to policies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze chemical, biological, or microbiological products, raw materials, in-process materials, release test samples, or stability samples in support of the company’s quality program.
- Interpret and evaluate analyses for accuracy and precision against established specifications; recommend and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop, validate, and implement controlled environment methods.
- Apply existing techniques and procedures, recommend modifications for improved efficiency, or develop new analytical methods and techniques.
- Perform qualitative tests or quantitative assays using standard analytical equipment or modern, automated instrumentation.
- Establish requirements for the transfer of methodology from R&D.
- Work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop solutions.
- Coach and review the work of lower-level specialists; may manage projects or processes.
- Contribute to work group objectives by building relationships and consensus to reach agreements on assignments.
- Address complex problems requiring understanding of multiple issues, job areas, or specialties; provide in-depth analysis and recommendations for process improvements.
- Communicate with senior internal and external customers and vendors to exchange information, influence decision-making, and achieve objectives.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees; may delegate and review work products.
Requirements
- University degree (advanced degree preferred) in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (or 2 years with an advanced degree).
- Advanced knowledge of the job area, combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through education and experience.
- Practical knowledge of project management.
