About the role

The Sr. Manager Manufacturing will lead a team supporting AR5 and AR30 manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a member of the Manufacturing leadership team
  • Providing tactical and strategic leadership for operational support, investigations, and project execution
  • Building, developing, coaching, and retaining a diverse, engaged, and high-performing team
  • Partnering cross-functionally to advance product lifecycle management activities
  • Managing investigations related to process deviations and non-conformances
  • Managing change controls, corrective actions, and preventive actions
  • Providing technical support to troubleshoot and resolve process, equipment, system, and operational issues
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing training strategies
  • Identifying and delivering capacity, reliability, and efficiency improvements
  • Collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, and network partners to drive continuous improvement
  • Leading and supporting regulatory inspections
  • Delivering results in accordance with cGMP, safety, quality, compliance, and financial expectations
  • Applying lean principles, operational excellence, strategic thinking, and organizational design to improve department efficiency, agility, and effectiveness
  • Supporting business continuity by identifying risks and gaps, developing solutions, and ensuring resilient manufacturing support processes
  • Providing exceptional service to the plants and site, while keeping key stakeholders informed during critical activities

Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Manufacturing & Operations experience OR Associates degree and 10 years of Manufacturing & Operations experience OR Bachelors degree and 8 years of Manufacturing & Operations experience OR Masters degree and 6 years of Manufacturing & Operations experience OR Doctorate degree and 2 years of Manufacturing & Operations experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a GMP manufacturing environment, preferably in biologics drug substance manufacturing and mammalian cell culture
  • Strong understanding of cGMP expectations, deviation management, CAPA, change control, regulatory inspections, and manufacturing documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement principles to improve performance, reliability, and agility
  • Cross-functional experience partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, or global network teams
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, executive presence, sense of urgency, and ability to influence across functions and levels
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, align stakeholders, and lead through ambiguity
  • Proven ability to develop, coach, and inspire staff while positively advancing team culture and organizational performance

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
