Sr Meter Technician
Position Description
Perform meter instrumentation assessments, tests, repairs, and adjustments for performance and compliance accuracy on all types of positive displacement meters.
Perform maintenance for meters to resolve and address issues by analyzing, evaluating, repairing, and testing positive displacement meters.
Collaborate with relevant departments and more experienced team members to understand meter issues and to evaluate if equipment needs maintenance and recalibration.
Complete the verification tracking process when meter arrives at the meter service center (MSC) and use information for the diagnosis processes by working with standard operating procedures.
Assist, operate, and maintain prover related equipment such as vendor calibration sensors and cabling, including:
- Preliminary and final meter tests
- Proper temperature for most efficient prover operation
- Prover calibration adjustments
Operate tools and equipment with a moderate level of guidance, including:
- Forklifts
- Hand Tools (manual and pneumatic)
- Provers
- High-pressure air guns
- Hoists
- Company Truck
Input meter performance data into software applications relevant to each type of meter, i.e., MMS, Dresser, and other specific manufactures databases to meet audit and regulatory compliance requirements.
Upload meter test results into meter management system (MMS) by posting data to different records including:
- Meter record cards
- Repair logs for the life of the meter
What You Will Need
Minimum H.S. Diploma High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimal experience in the use and function of manual/power tools and equipment applicable to position.
Knowledge of the application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Previous knowledge and limited experience in meter testing and repair.
Experience and training related to:
- International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement
- Company/governmental safety policies and procedures
- Meter codes and record-keeping procedures
- Repair processes and procedures for large and small meters
Evaluate meter condition and adequacy of repairs
Knowledge of different software applications for posting and recording information on meter record cards.
Demonstrated ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license
Preferred Applicable commercial driver's license (CDL)
Preferred Technical certification/Vocational technical training
Able to lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 200 times a day; up to 20 pounds 10-20 times a day; up to 30 pounds 165 times a day; up to 40 pounds 165 times a day; over 50 pounds 8-10 times a day.
Fine motor skills for making minute adjustments.
Able to operate tools and equipment.
Able to read, write, speak, communicate, and exchange information and instructions in fluent English.
Detailed oriented and ability to thoroughly apply specific procedures to meet compliance regulations.
Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities, including peripheral vision and accurate depth perception.
