Sr Medical Science Liaison, Uncontrolled Gout- Rare Disease - DC, MD, DE, WV

As a Sr. Medical Science Liaison in the Uncontrolled Gout - Rare Disease team, you will serve as a scientific liaison to the medical and scientific community, establishing and maintaining relationships with prominent experts and clinicians across the DC, MD, DE, and WV territory.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors, managed care decision makers, and pharmacy directors in alignment with compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
• Understand, integrate, and effectively communicate scientific and medical information, as well as the commercial value of products, to the medical community and key internal/external audiences.
• Prioritize and work effectively in a self-directed manner in a constantly changing environment, including obtaining, integrating, and communicating customer feedback.
• Pair customers’ unmet needs with available internal resources.
• Collaborate with all functional areas to identify opportunities and needs addressable via scientific, medical, and health economic information.
• Identify and train potential new speakers on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
• Participate in national and regional conferences, meetings, and scientific venues to support Medical/Clinical strategy, gather competitive intelligence, and maintain relationships with key investigators.
• Evaluate potential external clinical research collaboration opportunities and facilitate investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and company-sponsored trials in conjunction with medical affairs and clinical development teams.
• Monitor the competitive environment for advances and trends in therapeutic areas, including new treatment management, therapies, and competitive products, and provide feedback to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree, or
  • Master’s degree and 3 years of Medical Affairs experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered).
  • 2 years of proven experience in scientific or medical affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison role.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to network.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% for territory management, conferences, and company meetings.
  • Ability to work up to 15-hour days due to travel requirements.
  • Proficiency in learning new business applications across hardware tools (e.g., PC, iPad).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional, proactive demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
