Sr Mechanical Construction Engineer

About the role

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Construction Engineer supporting the Test Operations and Sustainment contract, at Arnold Engineering Development Complex at Arnold AFB, TN.

Job Duties

• Provides projects with technical expertise in one or several areas of discipline.
• Leads discipline engineering specialists in providing technical assistance to construction management.
• Executes the construction engineering specialist program, which includes the exchange of engineering information among the client, design engineer, and company project.
• Maintains working knowledge of applicable codes and standards for a project.
• Provides technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities.
• Prepares material take-offs as well as initiates and prepares requisitions for the procurement of services, materials, and equipment necessary to support the project schedule.
• Covers the coordination and implementation of the constructability review program.
• Analyzes and makes independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
• Organizes and prioritizes a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, sets priorities, and meets deadlines.
• Plans and organizes own work assignments, as well as carries out tasks from management staff.
• Maintains compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
• Effectively develops and applies the Core Skills to the job.
• May need to travel to attend to business related matters.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management or similar.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering or construction or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience for Grade 10 (L10).
• Minimum of 12 years’ experience in engineering or construction or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience for Grade 11 (L11).
• Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.

• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
