Sr. MDM Data Architect
About the role
A Leading Broker Dealer client is seeking an experienced MDM Data Architect to support a large-scale enterprise data transformation initiative within a leading financial services organization. This individual will play a key role in designing and evolving the enterprise data ecosystem, with a strong focus on Master Data Management (MDM), data modeling, data governance, and data quality.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, principles, and roadmaps.
- Align data architecture with business objectives and strategic transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the data ecosystem.
- Design scalable, reusable, and sustainable data solutions.
- Create conceptual, logical, physical, dimensional, and semantic data models.
- Develop scalable data structures across operational and analytical environments.
- Define master data, reference data, and metadata management strategies.
- Ensure consistency across key business domains.
- Support enterprise MDM strategy and architecture.
- Define golden records, matching and merging logic, survivorship rules, and governance processes.
- Partner with business stakeholders to establish stewardship and ownership models.
- Support implementation and governance of MDM platforms.
- Develop enterprise data quality frameworks and standards.
- Establish data quality KPIs, monitoring, scorecards, and observability processes.
- Define standards for lineage, metadata management, cataloging, and stewardship.
- Collaborate with compliance and security teams to meet regulatory requirements.
- Design and govern modern cloud-based data platforms.
- Architect data lakes, lakehouses, warehouses, and real-time data solutions.
- Establish ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption patterns.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, and cost objectives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Engineering, Analytics, or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in a Data Architect or Enterprise Data Architecture role.
- Strong expertise in data modeling methodologies:
- Conceptual
- Logical
- Physical
- Dimensional
- Semantic
- Expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) programs.
- Strong understanding of:
- Data Governance
- Data Quality Frameworks
- Metadata Management
- Data Lineage
- Advanced SQL experience.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
- Ability to translate business requirements into data architecture solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial Services, Wealth Management, or Broker-Dealer industry experience.

- Knowledge of:
- Data Mesh

- Lakehouse Architecture
- Medallion Architecture (Raw, Staging, Normalized Layers)
- Experience supporting AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives.
Technology Environment
- Data Platforms: Databricks (Raw, Staging, Normalized Layers), Snowflake (Dimensional & Semantic Layer)
- Data Architecture Focus: Data Modeling, Data Governance, Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Integration, API-Based Architecture
Location Requirement
Candidates must be able to work in a hybrid environment and be located near either the San Diego, CA or Dallas, TX office for future conversion consideration.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
