Responsibilities
- Analyze production schedules and forecasts to determine material requirements.
- Generate and manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock.
- Align material availability with production and customer delivery dates.
- Create and issue purchase orders (POs) based on MRP and demand.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships.
- Expedite or defer orders as needed to align with changing production needs.
- Track inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Manage safety stock, reorder points, and lead times.
- Cook up coordination with warehouse/logistics teams for material receipt and storage.
- Implement inventory reduction or cost-saving initiatives.
- Work closely with production planners to ensure continuous material flow.
- Troubleshoot material shortages or delays.
- Support engineering changes or new product introductions (NPI) with material readiness.
- Maintain accurate data in PLEX ERP/MRP systems.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, supplier performance, and material costs.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like supplier on-time delivery, purchase price variance, and inventory turns.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of experience in materials planning.
- Electronics purchasing experience preferred.
- Manufacturing Experience Required / Automotive Experience Preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree focused in Business or Logistics is preferred.
- Previous experience with electronics purchasing is desired.
- Prior experience with PLEX ERP system is a plus.
- Either of the following certifications is preferred: APICS or CPM.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
